Find your family holiday home

All the things to consider when choosing a family holiday home to buy...

Buying a holiday home for the whole family to enjoy together will give you a special place that will always put a smile on your face. With the little ones running around and perhaps your four legged friend chasing their favourite toys, you'll probably be looking for something with plenty of space plus all the practicalities that make family holidays a little bit easier too.  Our advice on finding the best family holiday home to buy, will help you know what to look out for to make sure your years of holidaying together are cherished for years to come.

At Aria Resorts we can find you a lodge, boutique barn or caravan big enough for the whole brood to spread out and enjoy, with comfortable open plan living areas to bring you all together for meal time treats, family games or just a quiet night in front of the telly.  Together we can find you your own bolthole of happiness.

Caravans are a great value option for a family holiday home.  If you have a larger family you'll want to look out for a three bedroom which will comfortably sleep six.  Most caravans also have the option of a pull out bed in the living room, so if the grandparents or the kids' friends want to join you for a short break, you'll have a bit of extra bed space to put to use.

With all of the bits and bobs you need for a beach day and often several changes of clothes required for each day, you will want to make sure you opt for a holiday home with plenty of storage.  Look out for smart storage options such as under bed or sofa storage; and over bed cupboards will also add to your storage capabilities, so that you can even leave a few bits behind to make packing a lot lighter every time you visit.

Caravans with fixed seating are ideal for making sure that the whole family can find a comfortable spot for movie nights and will also give you lots of floor space for sprawling out with board games and colouring books. A dinette dinner table is also a fantastic space saver that still allows you to enjoy family meal times together.

Look out for models that maximise on living space to make sure that you have plenty of space for family together time, whilst still having cosy bedrooms to retire to at the end of a busy day.  With a growing family, it is also a great idea to seek out caravans with two bathrooms, or at least a second toilet so that getting going in the morning is simple and stress free.

You might also want to think about the little added touches that will make your holidays easy breezy, whether it is USB charge points for keeping teenagers devices ever ready, a Bluetooth sound system to set the tone for your holiday time, or perhaps a wine fridge should really be the priority!

Luxury lodges usually measure up at at least 40ft x 20ft and at double the size of a standard caravan they give families a tonne of extra space, as well as a few little luxuries, making them an ideal holiday home for families to buy.  Available with two or three bedrooms and often with full size single beds and snuggly, king-size doubles, they are ideal for older children and parents to get a delicious night's sleep, so you can wake up ready to enjoy the day ahead.

The majority of lodges come with two bathrooms and often have a full size bath in one of them, so washing sandy little toes is no problem at all, and adults also get a relaxing soak away from the family chaos.  The practicalities in a lodge just keep coming with space for all the modern appliances that we have come to rely on including large fridge freezers, dishwashers, washing machines and microwaves all helping to make your family holidays as easy and relaxed as possible.

In a lodge you can look out for super useful features such as a utility room to help clean up muddy boots and sandy wetsuits, without bringing the mess into your living space; or perhaps a breakfast bar for a quick informal tea before bed.

Luxury lodges benefit from a larger decking area, which wraps around the whole holiday home, so you'll have a safe, enclosed space for little ones to enjoy, whilst you grab a bit of 'you time'.  If you are looking for a family holiday home with a hot tub, the larger decking on a luxury lodge means you can indulge in some bubbles and still have space for some al fresco dinners too.
