Sand, sea and natural beaty

The Bay Filey is one of the most popular destinations for holidays on the Yorkshire coastline, with five miles of award-winning beach and a beautiful, natural landscape. Positively understated when compared to nearby neighbours Scarborough and Whitby, it manages to effortlessly combine awesome natural beauty with a touch of elegant, seaside glamour.

With a gorgeous, 5-mile-wide stretch of sand, Filey Beach is the perfect seaside destination and is just steps from our resort. Camp out on the beach for the day and splash about in the waves, or walk along the coast to the town of Filey.

Pick your way amongst the pebbles at North Landing or take the air at South Bay Beach with its historic spa, ice cream parlours and cliff railway offering a taste of Victorian charm.

Whether your idea of a day at the beach is relaxing in a secluded cove, building sandcastles and jumping waves or fishing quietly from the shoreline, there is a bay, just right for you.

History and heritage

Yours to enjoy

With its beautiful and varied scenery, historic cities and industrial heritage, the great county of Yorkshire is a must visit destination. Bathe in the healing waters of the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, amble around the walled city of York and visit its imposing 13th Century gothic cathedral. Filey and Yorkshire are also rich in culture too with literary landmarks such as the Bronte Parsonage and Whitby Abbey to discover as well as food festivals, pop up galleries in quaint village locations and one of the largest folk festivals in the country.

The great outdoors

Explore nostalgic villages clinging to cliffs, watch the local fisherman bring back their catch as the sea birds whirl and weave above their boats. Take in serene ocean views or ramble about on the North York Moors. Grab a board and catch some waves, take to the seas on your vessel of choice or perch on two wheels for a scenic cycle ride. Yorkshire brings the outdoors to you and you can sample it in every which way! From gentle walks to adrenaline filled bursts, you choose!
