The Bay Colwell is near the Western tip of the Isle of Wight, just a short walk from the sandy beach at Colwell Bay. With The Needles, Freshwater Bay and Yarmouth all within easy access, you'll find it hard to avoid being tempted into the great outdoors. Mountain bike trails and road bike routes crisscross the Western half of the island, while there are regular boat trips running from Yarmouth and the chairlift at The Needles, for those for prefer a less energetic day out.
Isle of Wight Attractions
You may know the Isle of Wight for its stunning beaches and sunny climate, but Rookley Park is also perfectly situated for access to the island's many attractions. With a vibrant tourism industry, the island supports a whole host of fun activities and destinations, from Carisbrooke Castle to the Isle of Wight Zoo, the Garlic Farm and the world famous Needles Landmark Attraction. Open from 10am to 4pm daily, with longer hours in summer. If you’re visiting the Isle of Wight, chances are you’ve seen pictures of the white cliffs and jagged peaks of The Needles rocks and the bright red Trinity Lighthouse at their westernmost tip. The Needles Landmark Attraction is probably the best viewpoint on land to see this attraction, with an impressive chairlift descending the cliff to the beach at Alum Bay. There’s free parking at the top, and you can pay on the day or book tickets in advance for the chairlift.
This adventure park has loads of fun-filled activities on offer for the whole family. There are four amazing rides to try, several adventure playgrounds to explore and falconry displays to watch. There's something here for people of all ages – you may even get to see some red squirrels if you’re lucky!
Open 9am to 5pm daily, This traditional Isle of Wight attraction caters to young and old alike, with food tasting, walks and a play area for the kids. The farm even has tractor tours in the summer holidays and an education centre, with garlic bread-making workshops. Seasonal events include a Christmas market, art exhibitions and a pop-up opera in the summer.
